Joseph was age 30, born in October 1880 in the U.S.A., immigrated in 1882, English, Anglican, Canadian, and a Journalist for a newspaper. He worked 50 weeks in the past year at 50 hours a week, for $2000. He held $1000 each of life and sickness insurance, costing $18. Emily was 36, born in Ontario in Nov 1874, Anglican, and of English origin. They also had a Scottish domestic in the household.2

Advertising Veteran, J.B. Rathbone Passes

National advertising representative of the Journal Publishing Company in Toronto and Montreal for the past 37 years, Joseph Bell Rathbone died unexpectedly this morning at his home in Toronto, in his 64th year.

A son of the late Hugh Bell of Halifax, he was the oldest member of the company, having joined the circulation staff 42 years ago.

Surviving, besides his widow, the former Emily Dale, is a brother, Seymour Rathbone, vice-president and manager of the firm of Ahearn and Soper, Ltd., Ottawa.

A private funeral will be held in Toronto on Wednesday afternoon.5
