1911 CensusJerald C [sic] and Gertrude Bonnycastle appeared on the 1911 Census of Bowmanville, Ontario, at Temperance Street, enumerated 18 Jun 1911. Jerald C was age 35, born March 1876 in Ontario, of English origin, Anglican, a dentist working on his own account and held $10,000 of life insurance [this was quite high] costing $250. Gertrude was 32, born in August 1878 in Ontario, Anglican and of Scotch origin. Their daughter Dorothy Kent was listed as living with them, as well as a domestic who worked 36 weeks at 48 hours per week for $135 [?].3 
(Next-of-kin) CEFGertrude Bonnycastle, wife, of Bowmanville was listed as next-of-kin on the Canadian Expeditionary Force attestation papers of Gerald Carlow Bonnycastle on 13 Mar 1916.4  
1921 CensusGerald and Gertrude appeared on the 1921 Census of Bowmanville, Durham County, Ontario, at Temperance Street. They owned their 12 room brick home and the family was Anglican. Gerald was 43, born in Ontario as were his parents, and was a Dentist working on his own account. Gertrude was 42, born in Ontario, father in England, mother in Scotland. They had one daughter: Dorothy (13.)5 
WillGertrude Bonnycastle wrote a will dated 1949 in Bowmanville.6 
DeathGertrude died on 13 Nov 1949.7
 
BurialShe was buried in Bowmanville Cemetery, Ontario. Shares headstone with her husband.7
