1920 CensusFay Rosenbury [sic] appeared on the 1920 Federal Census of McAllen, Hidalgo County, Texas, at 1191 20th Avenue, enumerated 2 Feb 1920. She was one of five roomers with the Glasscock family. Fay was 24, single, born in Missouri, father born in Illinois, mother in Missouri, and she worked as a Stenographer at a Bank.3

They owned a house worth $6000 (typical for the neighborhood) and had a radio set. Alexander was 46, first married at 37, born in English Canada, as were his parents, had filed his declaration of intention to become a citizen, immigrated in 1896, and was an Agent for the Steam Railroad. He was not a veteran. Faye was 35, first married at 26, born in Missouri, father born in Illinois, mother in Missouri. Their son William Lee was listed as living with them.6 
Item On 18 Aug 1939 in District Court of the U.S., Los Angeles, California, Faye Bonnycastle completed her petition for naturalization. In it she stated she was Fay Bonnycastle of 1168 Ruberta St, Glendale, Calif, housewife, born in Rock Port Missouri on 2-25-95, German race, married Alexander William Bonnycastle on 9-28-21 at Los Angeles, and had one child William Lee born 7-1-24 at Los Angeles. She had not acquired any other nationality by affirmative act.2 
Research Note A congressional act of 1907 declared if an American woman married an alien, she lost her citizenship and took on the nationality of her husband. She was no longer eligible for US citizenship, unless her husband applied and was accepted. After 1922, the law was changed to allow women to obtain citizenship independently and they did not lose it when they married an alien. 
1940 CensusAlexander W and Faye appeared on the 1940 Federal Census of Glendale, Los Angeles County, California, at 1168 Ruberta Avenue. Faye supplied the information. Alexander was 56, had 2 years of high school education, was born in Canada, naturalized. He was a general passenger agent for the steam railroad, working 44 hours the week prior to the census and 52 weeks in 1939 for $4200. Faye was 45, born in Missouri, had four years of high school. They lived in the same house as in 1935 and had one son, William (15.)7 
Residence In 1966, Faye Bonnycastle lived in Cuba County, California.8 
DeathFaye died on 11 Apr 1966 in Orange County, California, at the age of 71.8
