(with Mother) 1881 CensusKate appeared on the 1881 Census of Gloucester, Russell County, Ontario in the household of her widowed mother Mary. She was 23, born in Scotland, and Presbyterian.5

Note.Witnesses at their children's baptisms included Wm Ewing Senr, Mary Ewing, James Drummond, Jeanie Allan, Margaret McDougall Drummond, and James H Davison, Mary Graham, J H Bow?, Mary Jane Culkin, Frances T M Graham [Catherine's sister-in-law].

Have not found a baptism for their youngest daughter, Margaret. Not recorded at St Gabriel's in 1896-98, where all her siblings were baptised. 
1891 CensusWilliam and Catherine Ewing appeared on the 1891 Census of Montreal, Quebec. The Ewing family lived in a 4 story stone house with 12 rooms. William was 47, born in Scotland, parents born in Scotland, religion Presbyterian, and was a Seedsman - Retail dealer, employing 6 people. Catherine was 32, born in Scotland, parents born Scotland, and religion Presbyterian. Their children were William (7), Thomas (5), Mary (3), and Catherine (1). Also with them were William's father William (72) and one domestic servant.6 
1901 CensusWilliam F and Catherine K Ewing appeared on the 1901 Census of Montreal, Quebec. William was born Sept 18 1845 in Scotland, age 55, immigrated in 1865, Scotch origin, Canadian, Presbyterian, a Merchant of Seeds &c, employer, could speak English & French as could his children. Catherine was born July 11 1858 in Scotland, age 42, immigrated in 1867, and did not speak French. Their children were William (16, clerk of seeds &c), Thomas G (14), Marey L (13), Catherine K (11), Isabel D (9), Archibald C (6), and Maggie McL (4). Also in the household were William's father William and one servant.7 
(Witness) Marriage C K Ewing witnessed the marriage of her son William Ewing and Isabel Swanson Forbes on 22 Jul 1910 in First Presbyterian Church, Montreal, Quebec.8 
(Witness) Marriage Catharine Kinross Ewing witnessed the marriage of John Spencer Wells Smith and her daughter Mary Lennox Ewing on 28 Sep 1910 in Montreal.9 
1911 CensusWilliam and Katherine Ewing [the surname is difficult to read] appeared on the 1911 Census of Montreal, Quebec, at 100 Sherbrooke Street. William was 67, born in Scotland in September 1843, immigrated in 1865. He was a wholesale & retail merchant of seeds, etc. and was both an employer and working on his own account. Katherine was 56, born in Scotland July 1854, immigrated in 1862. With them were their children Thomas (25), Katherine (21), Isabella (19), and Margaret (14), all born in Quebec, and one female Catholic domestic who worked 50 weeks and earned $200. The family was Presbyterian and Thomas was the only one who could speak French.10 
(Son died) DeathHer son Archibald died 4 Jun 1916 while serving in World War I. Their address was 476 Melrose Avenue, Notre Dame de Grace, Montreal.11 
(Witness) Marriage Catharine Kinross Ewing witnessed the marriage of William Alexander McIntosh and her daughter Margaret McLaurin Ewing on 24 Apr 1920 in Montreal.12 
(Witness) Marriage Catherine K Ewing witnessed the marriage of Ebin John Campbell and her daughter Catherine Kinross Ewing on 21 Nov 1924 in Montreal.13 
(Mentioned) ObituarySister Mrs C Ewing of Montreal was mentioned in John Graham's 1931 obituary.14 
DeathCatharine died before 1944.
She was not mentioned in the lengthy obituary of her son William.
