1881 CensusJohn and Catherine appeared on the 1881 Census of Loudoun, Ayrshire, at Loudoun Hill. John was 37, born in Loudoun, and was a Farmer of 72 Acres employing 1 Man & 2 Girls. He was with his wife Catherine their children Catherine, Christina, Jessie, Isabella, Agness, Marion, his brother William and two domestic servants.4

1901 CensusJohn and Catherine appeared on the 1901 Census of Kilmadock, Perthshire, at Kames. John was 57 years old, a Farmer and employer, and was born in Loudoun, Ayrshire. Catherine was 51 and born in East Kilbryde, Lanarkshire. With them were their children Catherine, Isabella, Minnie, Ellen Jane, William, John, Emily, Andrew and 4 farm servants. (More servants were in cottages).6 
DeathJohn died on 13 Jun 1905 in Kames, Kilmadock, Perthshire.
Information from certificate: Farmer, married to Catherine Paterson, age 63, son of William Cameron farmer deceased & Christina Cameron maiden surname Strang, deceased; died of Cancer of the Colon 6 months certified by John Reid MB; informant: Wm Cameron, Son, present.7,8
