Note.She was bequeathed £55 from cousin Robert Stirling of Leek in his will dated 7 Aug 1838. 'To family of my Aunt Elizabeth Graham the sister of my late mother' includes 'To Janet the wife of William Alison of Saint Ninian's Spirit Dealer, late Janet Graham spinster, the sum of £55.3
1841 CensusWilliam and Janet Allison appeared on the 1841 Census of St Ninians CP, Stirlingshire, at Barnsdale. William was 65, born in Stirlingshire, and a Mason. Janet was 50 and not born in Stirlingshire. Their children were William (20), Walter (10), Janet (20), Agnes (15), Susan (12), and Helen (6). [ages were rounded down in the 1841 census].5 
(Sibling) 1851 CensusJanet Allison appeared on the 1851 Census of Edinburgh St Cuthberts, Midlothian, as a sister in the household of Elizabeth Smart. She was married, an annuitant, and born in Dunblane.6 
(Widowed) DeathHer husband William died between 1851 and 1861. 
1861 CensusJanet Allison appeared on the 1861 Census of St Ninians, Stirlingshire, at Charterhall Road, enumerated 7 Apr 1861. Janet was the head of the household, age 72, born in Dunblane, and a House Keeper. Also there were her daughter Agnes Allison (37, worsted weaver) and grandson William McKenzie (19, nail maker).7 
1871 CensusJanet Allison appeared on the 1871 Census of St Ninians, Stirlingshire, at Borestone Road. Janet was an annuitant, age 84, and born in Dunblane Perthshire. Also in the household was her daughter Agnes (44, worsted weaver) and one boarder.8 
DeathJanet died on 26 Aug 1873 in St Ninians.9
