1841 CensusHe appeared on the 1841 Census of Dunblane, Perthshire, at Wester Feddall Loig. He was 55 years old, a farmer, and born in the county. Also in the household were Alexander Kinross (40), Thomas Kinross (15), three agricultural labourers, and two female servants.5 
(Witness) ProbateHe was an executor of the estate of his brother John Kinross, a baker in Dunblane, on 20 Feb 1846 in Dunblane Sheriff Court.6 
1851 CensusLewis appeared on the 1851 Census of Dunblane, Perthshire, at Loig. He was 70 years old, born in Dunblane, and a farmer of 170 acres, employing 4 servants. Also there were his brother Alexander (58), son Thomas (30), 3 farm servants and 2 house servants.1 
DeathLewis died on 17 May 1856 in Loig, Dunblane, Perthshire.
Information from the registration: Lewis Kinross, farmer, unmarried, 79, father Jas, farmer, deceased, at Loig, mother Margaret Monteath, cause of death peritonitis of 6 days duration, buried in Dunblane Churchyard. The informant was his brother-in-law Wm Stirling of Woodend Dunblane.2 
ProbateHis estate was probated on 13 Jun 1856 in Dunblane. Lewis bequeathed the whole goods, gear, debts, sums of money, crop, cattle, horses, implements of husbandry, household furniture and plenishing, and in general the whole moveable estate to his natural son Thomas, who was also named Executor. To his brother Alexander Kinross, joint tenant with Thomas, in the farm of Loig under William Moray Stirling, Esq of Abercairney, he left one half of the whole farm stocking and effects. The estate was valued at £708.18.5.7 
Research Note The term 'natural' in his will means illegitimate.
