Cornelia was 61, born June 1838 in Michigan, parents born in New Jersey, and she had had 5 children, 3 still living. They had been married 38 years and owned their home with a mortgage. Their son Clinton Thomas was living with them.3 
1910 CensusJoseph and Cornelia Freidt appeared on the 1910 Federal Census of Petersburg, Monroe County, Michigan, at Center Street, enumerated 21 Apr 1910. Joseph was 69, born in Pennsylvania, and a Laborer doing odd jobs. Cornelia was 71, born in Michigan, parents born in New Jersey, and had five children, 3 of whom were still living. They had been married 47 years and owned their home with a mortgage.7 
1920 CensusJoseph and Corneila [sic] appeared on the 1920 Federal Census of Summerfield Township, Monroe County, Michigan, enumerated 6 Feb 1920. They owned their home free. They were ages 81 and 80 and born in Michigan. They were noted to be away on census day.8

JOSEPH FRIEDT DEAD
Following a severe cold, which developed into an abscess on the brain, Mr Joseph Friedt, of Petersburg, Michigan, died at the home of his daughter, Mrs Fred Maynard, of Gibsonburg, Ohio, February 14, 1920. The deceased was born in Jacob's Creek, Pennsylvania, in 1839, making him 80 years of age December last. He came to Michigan when mere a lad with his parents, enrouting from Pennsylvania by wagon, and taking up their home on a farm near Dundee, Michigan.
He was united in marriage on July 13th, 1863 to Cornelia Suydam and to this union were born five children, two of whom died in infancy. He is survived by his wife and three children; Mrs Fred Maynard, of Gibsonburg, Richard Friedt, of Detroit, Michigan, and Clinton Friedt, of Sylvania, O., also nine grandchildren, one brother and one sister. He was a resident of this village for forty years. Those who knew him best loved him most. Services were conducted by Rev. C.W. Young from the home on Tuesday, Feb 17, at 1:30. The text used was taken from Psalms 90:10.
Those from out of town who attended the funeral were: Mrs Louise Schunk and sons, of Toledo, O., Mr J.C. Brown and wife and William Friedt, of Detroit, Jacob Suydam, wife and son, Byron Friedt, F.L. Larry and family, Albert Larry and wife, all of Dundee, Richard Suydam and wife, of Adrian, Harve Pixley, of Wellsville, John Cowan and wife, Charles Spohr, wife and son, John Jasper and wife, all of Britton, Mrs Mary Cowan and daughter, of Deerfield.10
 
DeathCornelia died on 8 Dec 1923 in Gibsonburg, Sandusky County, Ohio.
