Research Note | In the 1850 census, Maston was with John Keen in Perry County, Illinois. Relationships were not recorded in the 1850 and I initially assumed that Maston was John's son. However, Maston was not named in the administration of John's estate so is perhaps a nephew. |

Military | Maston Keen joined the 110 IL US Infantry on 15 Aug 1862 in Perry County. He was with Company H which consolidated with Company D. Maston was a private, signed up by Cpt Murphy for a period of 3 years. He was mustered in on 11 September 1862 at Camp Anna, Illinois and mustered out 8 June 1865 at Washington, DC by Lt Scruggs.
