Rowing ‘blue’ (cox.), 1889, 1890. Served in the South African War, 1899-1902 (Thorneycroft's Mounted Infantry). Served in the Great War, 1914-19 (Pte., 32nd Batt., the Middlesex Regt.) In the Civil Service; retired in 1928. Married, Sept. 5, 1903, Margaret Ainsworth, dau. of Lieut.-Col. Gritton, R.M., and had issue, two sons.
