Francis Sisson (1830 [sic]-1902) was a fruitgrower of Papanui. The family donated land for the Papanui Baths, Papanui Domain and the former Waimairi Council building. Sissons Avenue first appears in street directories in 1924. Walter Patrick Sisson (1900?-1936), a fruit-grower, is a resident. Becomes Sissons Road in 1934. Becomes Sisson Drive post-1997.5 |
