Newspaper | Published 14 Feb 1944 in the Ottawa Citizen. Advertising Veteran, J.B. Rathbone Passes National advertising representative of the Journal Publishing Company in Toronto and Montreal for the past 37 years, Joseph Bell Rathbone died unexpectedly this morning at his home in Toronto, in his 64th year. A son of the late Hugh Bell of Halifax, he was the oldest member of the company, having joined the circulation staff 42 years ago. Surviving, besides his widow, the former Emily Dale, is a brother, Seymour Rathbone, vice-president and manager of the firm of Ahearn and Soper, Ltd., Ottawa. A private funeral will be held in Toronto on Wednesday afternoon.5 |
