Note. | Edwin Brough left the silk manufacturing business and they built Wyndyates, in Yorkshire, in 1885, living there until 1910. Edwin was a premier Bloodhound breeder and built kennels on the property. Two of his hounds, Burgho and Barnaby, were famously requested by the Metropolitan Police to help track down Jack the Ripper. An interesting description of Brough's operations is available on Google Books in the 1901 publication Some Scarborough faces, past and present: being a series of interviews reprinted from the Scarborough Magazine.
