1841 CensusWilliam and Mary appeared on the 1841 Census of Dunblane, Perthshire, at Qoigs. William was 39, a farmer, born in Perthshire. Mary 38, also born in the county. The children were William (10), Mary (8), Margaret (6), Thomas (5), Elizabeth (3). In the household were also 1 agricultural labourer & 2 female servants.4 
1851 CensusWilliam and Mary appeared on the 1851 Census of Dunblane, Perthshire, at Upper Quoigs. William was a Farmer of 110 Acres with 4 Servants, age 47, birthplace Comrie. Mary was 48 and born in Dunblane. Their children were Elizabeth (12), Margaret (16), Mary (20), Thomas (14), William (18) and there was also one farm servant.2 
1861 CensusThey appeared on the 1861 Census of Dunblane, Perthshire, at Wester-quoigs. William was 57, born in Comrie, a Farmer of 113 Acres employing one man, who lived with them. Mary was 61, a farmer's wife, born in Dunblane. Their children were Elisabeth (22), Margaret (20), Thomas (24).5 
(Widowed) DeathHis wife Mary died on 10 Jan 1870.6  
1871 CensusWilliam appeared on the 1871 Census of Ardoch, Perthshire, at Upper Quoigs. William's age was 19 [sic], birthplace Comrie, and he was a Farmer of 130 Acres Arable, employing one. With him were his children Margaret (34, housekeeper), Thomas (32), grandchildren Thomas McGregor (16), Mary Graham (6). Also there, a housekeeper and a general servant.7 
1881 CensusWilliam appeared on the 1881 Census of Ardoch, Perthshire, at Upper Quoigs. He was 81, a widower, born in Comrie, and a Farmer of 110 Acres Arable Employing 2 Men and 1 Woman. With him were his son & daughter-in-law Thomas & Euphemia, granddaughter Ann A.R., a domestic servant and 2 farm servants.8
