Residence-Moved In Jan 1888, Lena was in the United States with her family, then they moved to Ontario.4 
(with Parents) 1891 CensusLena appeared on the 1891 Census of Camden East Township, Addington County, Ontario with her parents. She was 9, born in Manitoba, parents born in Ontario, and religion Methodist. She and two younger brothers lived with their parents in a 2 story wood house with 5 rooms.5 
1901 CensusLeena [sic] appeared on the 1901 Census of Wilton, Lennox County, Ontario, at Con 6 Lot 35, enumerated 1 Apr 1901. She was with her parents and three brothers, was age 17, born 8 March 1884 in urban Manitoba, and attended school 10 months.6 
Residence-Moved Circa 1903, the family moved to Manitoba.2

DirectoryLena was listed in the 1908 Winnipeg directory as "Davey, Lena tchr Bird's Hill School, residence 306 Victor Street". She was at the same address as her father.9

Note.In June of 1909, William and two of Lena's brothers applied for homesteads in Saskatchewan. There was a pattern of William spending the winter in Winnipeg and the summers working on the homestead. Lena never moved out there.

1911 CensusLena Colthammer appeared in her parents' household on the 1911 Census of Winnipeg, Manitoba, at 394 Victor Street, enumerated 1 Jun 1911. Lena was born in April 1884 in Manitoba, was married, age 27, Scotch origin, Presbyterian, and no occupation noted. Her daughter Emma was with her but husband William was in Saskatchewan on the homestead.11 
(Dtr) BirthDaughter Mary Pauline was born on 14 Aug 1911 in Manitoba.12 
Note.In November 1912, William's homestead papers said that he had a wife and two children in Winnipeg.13

1916 CensusE Lena Colthammer appeared on the 1916 Census of Winnipeg, Manitoba, at 226 Woodlawn, enumerated 1 Jun 1916. She lived in her parents' home, was married, age 32, born in Manitoba, Presbyterian, and was a schoolteacher. Her daughters Emma and Mary Pauline were with her. Husband William was on the homestead in Moose Jaw and two of her brothers were with the army overseas.14 
WillLena Mary Kolthammer (sometimes called Colthammer) of Saint James, Manitoba, schoolteacher, wife of William Henry Kolthammer wrote a will dated 16 Oct 1918. She appointed her father Henry William Davey, her mother Emma Davey, and her brother Will Roy Davey to be her executors and guardians of her infant children. Her estate was to be used for the maintenance and education of her children, Emma Marguerite and Mary Pauline and if they should die, to her parents.12

DeathLena Colthamer [sic] died on 20 Mar 1921 in 152 Sutherland Avenue, St James, Winnipeg, Manitoba.
The death registration indicated that Lena was married, age 33, born in Emerson Manitoba, occupation school teacher, had lived at 152 Sutherland for 18 months and in Manitoba for 18 years. Her father was Henry William Davey, born Wilton Ontario and her mother was Emma Skinner born Camden East Ontario. The informant was her father, of the same address. The cause of death was pulmonary tuberculosis and there was an autopsy.2 
BurialShe was buried on 22 Mar 1921 in Brookside Cemetery, Winnipeg, Manitoba. Footstones in the plot included her parents, daughter Daisy and herself "Lena M Colthammer 1884-1921."2,15 
ProbateHer estate was proved on 26 Apr 1921 by her surviving executors Henry William Davey, contractor, and Emma Davey, married woman. The value of the estate was $2256.08 comprised of life insurance in the name of her children ($1000), Victory Bonds (900), cash in bank (156.08) and personal effects (200).
Henry William, age 68, and Emma, age 63, Davey were granted guardianship of Lena Mary's children Emma Marguerite and Mary Pauline Kolthammer. In their application they stated that the infants had lived with them for the previous six years. Their father William Henry Kolthammer had not contributed to their support for the previous six years and his whereabouts were unknown to them. The third guardian appointed in Lena Mary's will, her brother Will Roy, was killed in action in France 15 October 1918.
Emma Marguerite was born 6 July 1910 and Mary Pauline was born 14 August 1911.
The letters of guardianship were issued 19 May 1921.12
