WILLISTON, N.D. - R. Harvey McLean, 90, a longtime Williston resident, formerly of Hanks, Alamo and Westhope, passed away Saturday evening, July 24, 2004, in the Bethel Lutheran Home in Williston.

His funeral will be celebrated at 2 p.m. Wednesday, July 28, at Our Redeemer's Lutheran Church. Interment will follow in Riverview Cemetery.

Robert Harvey McLean was born July 17, 1914, in Fortuna, the son of Duncan and Ida (Tooke) McLean. He was raised in Hanks.

On Aug. 8, 1934, Harvey was united in marriage to Doris Evanson in Plentywood, Mont. During his working life Harvey was a miner, a farmer and for many years a truck driver after starting to drive in the early 1950's. He was a member of the Teamster's Union.

Harvey enjoyed playing horseshoes and in earlier years, boating.

Surviving Harvey are his wife, Doris, of Williston; two sons, Larry McLean and wife, Margaret, of Acampo, Calif., and Duncan McLean and wife, Arlene, of Pine Haven, Wyo; a daughter, Roberta (Bobbie) Baumann and her husband, Larry, of Lake Metigoshe; 14 grandchildren, 31 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Elden; and four sisters, Myrtle Hansen, Lorraine Stockman, Ida Leonard and Bea Beisecker.

Friends may call from 9 a.m. until 7 p.m. today, from 9 a.m. to noon, Wednesday at the Everson Funeral Home of Williston and for the hour preceding the funeral at the church.3
