Research Note | How do I know that Mary, the daughter of Martin McLean & Mary McGilvray, is the same Mary who married George Heffern? Mary married in 1867. According to census records, her parents and siblings moved to the United States about 1866. In the 1870 census, they were in Iroquois County. Mary, wife of George Heffern had a birthplace of Canada in census records. As well, a descendant of Mary is a DNA match with me.
