Newspaper | Published 1 Sep 1892 in the Barrier Miner (Broken Hill, NSW). Police Court. Charles Joseph Cox, on remand, was brought up on two charges of assault. Mr. C. Clark (for Mr. Edwards) appeared for the prosecution, and Mr. A.F. Abbott represented the accused. Cox's wife was the prosecutor in each case, and an arrangement having been come to between the parties she withdrew the charges of assault, and applied to have her husband bound over to keep the peace. His Worship granted the application, and accused was bound over in his own recognisance for a period of six months in the sum of £20text.5 |

Mr Kelynack appeared to oppose the motion. After hearing the affidavits his Honor made the rule nisi absolute but directed that the writ was not to issue if the respondent paid the current alimony regularly and paid off the arrears in two equal instalments, the first on the 13th proximo and the second on the 13th March otherwise the writ to issue.7 |
