BirthJoseph Henry Cox was born on 22 Jun 1819.
The baptism register recorded his birth as 1819 but I'm not sure if that was an error or if it was correct. He was baptised in July 1820.1 
BaptismHe was baptized on 14 Jul 1820 in St James Clerkenwell, Middlesex. The register stated that Joseph Henry was the son of Thomas, excise officer, and Martha Ann Cox, who lived in Cromer Street.1 
1841 CensusJoseph Cocks appeared on the 1841 Census of Bethnal Green, Middlesex, at Sale Street. He was 20 years old, a Cork Cutter, and born in Middlesex. He was at the same address as William Smart and family, including [sisters] Sarah and Caroline Note that the 1841 census recorded ages rounded down to the nearest 5 years, did not record relationships, and only indicated whether or not the person was born in the county.2 
MarriageHe married Sarah Smart on 22 Jun 1841 in Hackney, Middlesex.

Sarah Smart, full age, spinster, father Thomas Smart, weaver;
They both resided at Morning Lane and were married after banns. Sarah signed with her mark. Witnesses were James Ferdinand and Wm Daniell.3 
MarriageJoseph Henry Cox married Caroline Smart on 28 Aug 1845 in St Johns Waterloo, Lambeth, Surrey.
Information recorded in the parish register: Joseph Henry Cox, full age, widower, cork cutter, father Thomas Cox, excise officer;
Caroline Smart, full age, spinster, father Thomas Smart, weaver;
They both resided at William Street and were married after banns. Caroline signed with an X. Witnesses were James Green and Robt Brown.4 
DeathJoseph died in 1846.
The register noted that he was 27 years old and of 13 Luke Street, Mile End New Town. He was buried 17 May 1846.5
