He then was a commercial traveler for two years, first headquartered in Saint Louis, then Cincinnati. The next 9 years he traveled for the Standard Oil Company and by 1911 and ended up in Lexington.8,9,10

Alice was 35, the mother of 2 children, was born in Texas, father born in England, mother in Louisiana. Their children Eleanor Augustus and Harriet Everett were with them.13
