She was 8 years old, attended school, and was born in Louisiana. Her father Edward was a store clerk and was born in England. Her mother Ella was 30 and born in Louisiana. Alice had two younger sisters, Irene and Mary. The family had one black house servant.2 
Note.In 1900, her parents lived in Memphis with children May (17), Edna (16), and Reginald (14). Edward and Ella were still in Memphis in 1910. 
MarriageShe married John Charles Bonnycastle, son of John Charles Bonnycastle and Harriet Everett, circa 1898.3

1910 CensusJohn C and Alice A Bonnycastle appeared on the 1910 Federal Census of Lexington, Fayette County, Kentucky, at 346 South Broadway, enumerated 21 Apr 1910. John was age 42, had been married 12 years, was born in Kentucky, father born Virginia, mother Kentucky, manager at Oil ----, and rented his home. Alice was 35, the mother of 2 children, was born in Texas, father born in England, mother in Louisiana. Their children Eleanor Augustus and Harriet Everett were with them.4 
1920 CensusJ.C. and Alice A Bonnycastle appeared on the 1920 Federal Census of Lexington, Fayette County, Kentucky, at 710 W High Street, enumerated 12 Jan 1920. J.C. rented his home. He was 52, born in Kentucky, father born in Virginia, mother in Kentucky. He worked in the refining department of Standard Oil Company. Alice A was 42, born in Texas, father born in England, and mother in Louisiana. Their children Eleanor Augustus and Harriet Everett were living with them, as well as Alice's sister Edna Augustus.5

1930 CensusAlice A Bonnycastle and her daughter Harriett appeared on the 1930 Federal Census of Shreveport, Caddo Parish, Louisiana, at 2631 Darien St, enumerated 9 Apr 1930. Alice owned her own house, valued at $9,000 (high value for the area) and had a radio set (about 1/3 did). Alice was 49, widowed, first married at 25, born in Texas, father born in Scotland, and mother in Louisiana, and had no occupation. Harriet was 20, born in Kentucky, father born in Kentucky, mother in Texas, and worked as a Clerk in a gas office. With them was lodger Edna Augustus [Alice's sister?].7 
DeathAlice A Bonnycastle died on 3 Jan 1943 in Caddo Parish, Louisiana.8
