Note.When Barry and Esther registered the birth of their son Thomas Percy Dale in 1900, they also registered their four older children. 
1901 CensusFrederick and Esther K Hayes appeared on the 1901 Census of Toronto, York County, Ontario, enumerated 11 Apr 1901. The census image is faint and difficult to read. Fred was 31, an Irish Catholic, born May 10 in Ontario, occupation information unreadable. Esther was 31, born February 6 18?? in Ontario. Their children Barry Bonnycastle, Norma Mary, Phyllis Marion and Thomas Percy Dale were living with them, along with two domestics, a nurse and a servant.8 
1911 CensusF Barry and Esther Hayes appeared on the 1911 Census of Toronto, York County, Ontario, at 69? Spencer Avenue, enumerated 7 Jun 1911. Barry was 49, born May 1862 in Ontario, of Irish origin, Roman Catholic, and was a Manufacturer. He had $50,000 life insurance [a very high amount] on himself as well as insurance on his wife and oldest child, spoke both English and French, and paid tuition for his children's schooling. Esther was 38, born in February 1873 in Ontario, or English origin, and Catholic. Their children Barry Bonnycastle, Norma Mary, Phyllis Marion, Thomas Percy Dale, M Doris and Charles Walter were living with them, as well as a domestic servant and a cook.9 
1921 CensusFred Barry and Esther Cathleen Hayes appeared on the 1921 Census of Toronto, Ontario, at 2 Wellesley Place. They owned their 6 room brick house. Fred Barry was 60, born in Ontario, parents born in Ireland. Esther Cathleen was 49, born in Ontario, parents born in England.
Also in the household were their children Percy (21), Charley (17), Dorice (19), and Norma May Moes (24), as well as son-in-law Charles A Moes (29, Russian), grandson Charles Moes (4 months), a Cook, Housemaid, and Nurse.10 
DeathEsther died on 10 Oct 1923 in Toronto, York County, Ontario.
