Obituary
C.J. Rudd Dies of Heart Ailment
     Charles J. "Chuck" Rudd, an Island songwriter and producer, died Monday at Queen's Medical Center two weeks after suffering a heart attack. He was 52.
     Mr. Rudd was born in Edmonton, Alberta, and came to Hawaii in 1962. He was formerly owner-manager of two radio stations on Vancouver Island.
     During his first years in Hawaii, Mr. Rudd worked in the hotel industry on Maui. He later founded and was president of Sounds of the Pacific, Inc.
     In this capacity Mr. Rudd wrote and produced numerous musical commercials for radio. Last november, he completed production of an album, "Songs of Guam," which included first recordings of songs from that island.
     The U.S. Navy band on Guam recently requested the music for one of the songs in the album, "Guam Is Good." The band played the song to welcome Vice President Spiro T Agnew to Guam.
     Mr. Rudd, who lived at 2609 Ala Wai Blvd., is survived by his widow, Mena Blaisdell Rudd; two daughters, Mrs. Robinn Lahatt, Waimanato, and Mrs. Roanne Lacno, Kailua; two sisters, Mrs. Sheila Hassell, Maui, and Mrs. Hope Inglis, Toronto; a brother T.C. Rudd of Victoria, Canada, and three grandchildren.
     Services are to be held at St. Andrew's Cathedral. The ashes are to be scattered at sea off Diamond Head. Williams Mortuary is in charge. Time of the services is to be announced later.12
