Information from the Commonwealth War Graves Commission: Ernest Samuel Godart, Wireman in the Royal Navy, on HMS Natal, age 27, service number M/13991, son of Herbert C & Mrs Godart of 21 Haverstock Rd, Hampstead London. His names appears on the Portsmouth Naval Memorial which commemorates 9,667 sailors of the First World War and 14,918 of the Second World War who have no known grave. Their site notes that he was killed by internal explosion of vessel in Cromarty Firth.2
