1891 CensusHe appeared on the 1891 Census of Paddington, London, at 294 Harrow Road. Herbert T was 18, worked as a Pawnbroker's Assistant, and was born in Mile End, Middlesex. He lived with two other servants, both pawnbroker's assistants.3 
1901 CensusHe and Horace Stanley Godart appeared on the 1901 Census of Chelsea, London, at 159 Marlboro Road, enumerated 31 Mar 1901. Herbert was listed as head of the household. He was 26 and his brother Horace was 22, both were single, worked as a Pawnbroker's assistants, and were born in Mile End, London. Their unmarried aunt Louisa Sarah Godart was also in the household, as well as a boarder and two visitors.4 
MarriageHerbert Thomas Godart married Kate Elvina Box in 1902.5
 
1911 CensusHerbert and Kate Godart appeared on the 1911 Census of Whitehill, Hampshire, at 2 Mayflower Villas. Herbert was 35, an Assistant Draper, birthplace Mile End London. Kate was 37 and born in Brighton. They had been married 8 years and Kate had borne one child. With them in their 5 room residence was daughter Kathleen Elvina (7) and one boarder.6 
DeathHerbert died in 1951.7
