Information from the register: William Thomas Linsell, widower, of the parish of St George Bloomsbury, and Maria Fernee, widow, of this parish were married by licence. The witnesses were John Linsell, [Maria's daughter?] Maria Fernee, and Samuel Walter Tracy.1 
1841 CensusThomas and Maria Linsell appeared on the 1841 Census of Holloway, Islington, Middlesex, at Prospect Terrace. Thomas was 50 and of independent means. Maria was 40 and they were both born in Middlesex. With them were [son] Francis, age 6, John Linsell (45, house decorator), and a female servant.3 
1851 CensusWilliam Thomas Linsell and Maria Portlock appeared on the 1851 Census of Edmonton, Middlesex, at Village of Bowes Farm, enumerated 30 Mar 1851. William T was 63, a House & Fund Holder, and was born in St Giles in the Fields. Maria was 53 and born in St Leonard's Shoreditch. Their son Francis was living with them, as well as nieces Amelia Linsell, Clara M Stanynought, and Harriet F Stanynought and a cook, housemaid and groom.2 
1861 CensusWilliam Thomas Linsell and Maria Portlock appeared on the 1861 Census of Paddington, Middlesex, at 7 Clifton Terrace. William T was 73, a Retired Builder, and born in Middlesex. Maria was 64 and born in St Leonards Middlesex. They had a groom and a house servant.4
