1881 CensusFanny V Fernee appeared on the 1881 Census of Paddington, London, at 12 Princes Square. She was 26, a cook, and was born in Godstone, Surrey. She was in an auctioneer's household along with a parlourmaid, housemaid, nursemaid, and nurse.4 
MarriageShe married George Henry Coomber on 17 Feb 1884 in St Nicholas Newport, Lincolnshire.

They both lived in Wilson Street and were married at the parish church after banns and the witnesses were James Murphy and Catharine Murphy.5

Note.In his early life, George resided in the Faversham Workhouse with his siblings.
Later George joined the Metropolitan Police Force before moving to Lincoln to work for an engineering company manufacturing WW1 tanks.6 
1891 CensusGeo and Fanny Violet [sic] appeared on the 1891 Census of Lincoln, Lincolnshire, at 68 Wilson Street where they occupied 4 rooms. George was 32, a tailor [sic], neither an employer nor employed, e.g. working on his own accord, and was born in Favisham [sic, the enumerator in Lincoln was perhaps unfamiliar with the place] Kent. Fanny was 34 and born in Thames Ditton Surrey. Their son Chas Henry was 5 and born in the City of Lincoln. They had one visitor, Walter Adams (single, 25, joiner, London.)7 
Research Note The occupation of Tailor in the 1891 census is the only time he was noted to have that occupation. It is unlike his other recorded occupations so may well be an enumerator error. 
1901 CensusGeorge H and Fanny V Coomber appeared on the 1901 Census of Lincoln, Lincolnshire, at 28 Lindum Avenue. George was 42, a foreman Engine Painter, and was born in Faversham Kent. Fanny was 46 and born in Thames Ditton Surrey. They had one son, Charles H (15, pupil teacher, born Lindoln.)8 
(Son died) Death Their son Charles Henry died 4 Feb 1905 in St George's Hospital, London. He was a student and only 19 years old.9 
1911 CensusGeorge H and Fanny V Coomber appeared on the 1911 Census of Lincoln, Lincolnshire, at 28 Lindum Avenue. They lived in 5 rooms. George was 52, an engine painter, and born in Faversham. Fanny was 54, birthplace Thames Ditton. They had been married 27 years and had one child. With them was niece Alice Delphine Freeman (21, born Croydon) and nephew Thomas Henry Lee (16, engineers apprentice, born Liverpool.)10 
DeathFanny died in 1923 in Lincolnshire.11
 
BurialShe was buried in St Nicholas Newport. She was in grave E2 and her son and husband were buried in graves E1 & E3. They were all Council-owned.6 
Note.After Fanny died in 1923, her husband George was a great help to their housekeeper Mabel who was a widow with five children to raise. George and Mabel remained lifelong friends.6
