Research Note There is marriage in Camberwell in 1908 for a George Frederick Higgins to Annie Johanna O'Brien. Church records show that George was an asphalter and his father was John Frederick, labourer, deceased.

Passenger ListGeorge Higgins was listed on a manifest dated 25 Nov 1910 for the Empress of Ireland, arriving in St John New Brunswick from Liverpool. The record showed that he was 28, married, carried $50, had never been to Canada, a Baker, religion Church of England, and was going to join his married sister in Toronto, traveling inland on the CPR.4 
Passenger List His wife Annie came on the Megantic, arriving in April 1911. She was 30, married, religion Wesleyan, had $15, had never been in Canada, and reported that she was going to Toronto to meet her husband, a baker.5 
1911 CensusGeorge and Annie Higgins appeared on the 1911 Census of Toronto, York County, Ontario, next to George's sister Annie Coorion. George was 28 years old, born in July 1882 in England, and worked as a baker in a factory. He was employed all year earning $600, working 56 hours a week. Annie was 40 years old, born in England in March 1880. They immigrated in 1910 and their religion was recorded as 'England'.3
