1900 CensusArthur J Story appeared on the 1900 Federal Census of Omaha, Douglas County, Nebraska, at 3128 Maple Street, enumerated 1 Jun 1900. He was 30 years old, single, born in July 1869 in England, immigrated in 1889, alien status, occupation Grocer, and he owned his home with a mortgage. No one else was in the household.6 
MarriageHe married Gertrude Dow in May 1904 in Omaha, Nebraska.7,8
 
1910 CensusArthur J and Gertrude Story appeared on the 1910 Federal Census of Omaha, Douglas County, Nebraska, at 6406 North 37th Street, enumerated 15 Apr 1910. Arthur was 40, born in England, immigrated in 1890, naturalized, employed as a carpenter in an incubator shop, and owned his home with a mortgage. Gertrude was 26, born in New Foundland, parents born in New Foundland, immigrated in 1890.
They had been married 7 years, a first marriage for both, and Gertrude had borne 2 children. Their sons were Herbert (5) and Arthur (3), both born in Nebraska. Also with them was Arthur's brother Herbert (22, birthplace England, immigrated 1909, bookkeeper.)7 
1920 CensusArthur J and Gertrude L Story appeared on the 1920 Federal Census of Omaha, Douglas County, Nebraska, at 5015 14th. They owned their home with a mortgage. Arthur was 50, immigrated in 1890, submitted his naturalization papers in 1922. He was born in England and employed as a Shipping Clerk for a Baking Company. Gertrude was 36, immigrated in 1901, alien status, and was born in Newfoundland. Their family included Herbert E (15) and Arthur W (13.)9 
(Mentioned) WillSon Arthur John was mentioned in the will of Anthony Story dated 20 Jul 1928. He was to receive a legacy of £500. If no longer living, £200 each to his sons Herbert E and Arthur Wellington at age 21. His wife Gertie was to receive a legacy of £100.10 
1930 CensusThe family was still together on the 1930 Federal Census of Omaha, Douglas County, Nebraska, at 4051 Grand. They owned their home valued at $5500. J Arthur was 60, first married at age 35, birthplace England, immigrated in 1890, naturalized, and was a Shipping Clerk for a Bakery, not a veteran. Gertrude was 47, first married at 20, born in Newfoundland, parents born in Newfoundland. Their children were Herbert (25, attorney) and W Arthur Jr (23, credit manager). With them was one boarder. Their children Herbert E and Arthur Wellington were living with them.11 
1940 CensusArthur J and Gertrude appeared on the 1930 Federal Census of Omaha, Douglas County, Nebraska, at 4736 41st Street. Gertrude supplied the information to the census taker. Arthur was 70, had an eight grade education, was born in England, naturalized, no occupation. Gertrude was 57, had an 8th grade education, and was born in Newfoundland. It was recorded that they lived in Omaha in 1935 but at a different address. With them was their son Herbert E (35, single, attorney.12
