Research Note Reginald Edward Frewen (1905- ), the eldest son of Edward Laton Frewen (1877-1941) and Ethel Lillian Salter, was born on 31 October 1905. He was educated at Winchester. On 6 September 1938 he married Mabel Inkster, the daughter of the late William Cullen Inkster of Trent River, Ontario, Canada.1 
1911 CensusHe appeared on the 1911 Census of St Leonards, Sussex, at 38 Eversfield Place. The only people in the household on census night were Anne Mary Frewen (58), her grandson Reginald Edward Frewen (5, born Marifield Cornwall), a child's nurse, and a lady's maid. His mother Lilian and a baby brother were in Weymouth Dorset.2 
Passenger ListReginald E Frewen was listed on a manifest dated 26 Aug 1936 for the Reina Del Pacifico, sailng from Liverpool to Bermuda. He was a scholastic, age 30, last residence England, intending to reside in Bermuda.3 
Passenger ListHe was listed on a manifest dated 14 Jul 1937 for the SS Monarch of Bermuda, sailing from Hamiilton Bermuda to New York. He was a school teacher, age 31, birthplace Merrifield England, residence Pembroke Bermuda, in transit from Bermuda to England, contact person Capt E L Frewen, father (National Club, 12 Queen Annes Gate, London), never before in the United States, going to join friend J L Breese at Breese Ranch in Santa Fe New Mexico, plans to stay 10 weeks, 5' 10", fair complexion, brown hair, hazel eyes.4 
Passenger ListHe was listed on a manifest dated 25 Jun 1938 for the SS Queen of Bermuda, arriving in New York 27 June 1938 from Hamilton, Bermuda. It noted that he was 32, a schoolmaster. citizen of Bermuda, born in Plymouth England, residence Pembroke Bermuda, contact there friend Mr H? Butterfield, last in US Sept 1937 in transit, final destination residence Rockhurst Burwash Sussex, 5' 10", medium complexion, brown hair and eyes.5 
Passenger ListHe was listed on a manifest dated 22 Aug 1938 for the SS Laconia from Liverpool to New York. He did not embark.6

Details from the list: Reginald Edward Frewen, 32, single, schoolmaster, birthplace Cornwall England, last permanent residence Hamilton Bermuda, nearest relative in England, Edward L Frewen (father, 96 Piccadilly London, final destination Bermuda via NY, carrying $200, last in the US in June 1938 transiting through NY, staying 10 days, final destination Saltus School, Hamilton Bermuda, height 5' 10", dark complexion, brown hair, brown eyes.7

Newspaper Published 24 Sep 1938 in the Hastings and St Leonards Observer.

Son of two well-known Northiam residents, Mr Reginald Edward Frewen, of Glenlea, Devonshire, Bermuda, has been married in Grace Church, New York, to Miss Mabel A Likster [sic], of Havelock, Ontario.
Mr Frewen, who is a master at Saltus Grammar School, is the eldest son of Captain E L Frewen, RN, and Mrs Frewen, of Brickwall, Northiam.
It was in Grace Church, New York, that Mr Morton Frewen, the bridegroom's uncle, was married in 1887 to Miss Clare Jerome, sister-in-law of the late Lord Randolph Churchill.9
 
Note.The Frewen family lived in Bermuda before and after WWII but went to Canada during the war.10 
DeathReginald died in 1992 in England.11
