[One of a set of twins who were born and died in 1867 was named Helen. The next child after Mary was named Helen]1 
(with Parents) 1871 CensusMary appeared on the 1871 Census of Doune, Kilmadock, Perthshire with her parents. She was 2 years old and born in Kilmadock.3 
(with Parents) 1881 CensusMary appeared on the 1881 Census of Govan, Lanarkshire with her parents. She was a scholar, age 12, birthplace Doune.4 
1891 CensusMary Stewart and Helen Stewart appeared on the 1891 Census of Glasgow, Lanarkshire, at 644 Eglinton Street. They were lodgers. Mary was 22, Helen 17. They were both employed as dressmakers and were born in Doune.5
