BaptismShe was baptized in Jun 1834 in Muthill, Perthshire. The register stated: Jane Reid, daughter in fornication of Wm. Reid in Cambushinie & Helen Taylor from Comrie. The entry was not dated but was between 14 & 17 Jun 1834.5 
Note.Her father married Elizabeth Paterson in 1836 and they had nine children. Do not know what became of Helen Taylor. 
(with Father) 1841 CensusJane appeared on the 1841 Census of Dunblane, Perthshire in the household of her father William Reid. She was 6 years old and born in Perthshire.6 
(with Parents) 1851 CensusJane appeared on the 1851 Census of Dunblane, Perthshire with her parents. She was 16 years old and born in Dunblane.1 
MarriageJane Reid married James Stewart, son of Duncan Stewart and Elizabeth Campbell, on 17 Sep 1858 in 11 Carlton Place, Glasgow, Lanarkshire.

They were married after banns by Alexr Cumming, Minister of East Gorbals Free Church and the witnesses were Robert McIntyre and James Thomson.4 
1871 CensusJames and Jane Stewart appeared on the 1871 Census of Doune, Kilmadock, Perthshire, at Main Street W. James was 37, a Mason, and born in Kilmadock. Jane was 36 and born in Invergeldie [sic], Perthshire. Their children were Elizth (12), Duncan (9), William (7), Jane (5), Mary (2).7 
1881 CensusJames and Jane appeared on the 1881 Census of Govan, Lanarkshire, at 80 S Wellington Street. James was an Inspector of Buildings, age 47, birthplace Doune. Jane was 46, birthplace Comrie. With them were their children Elizabeth (22, machinist), William (17, clerk messenger at arms), Jane (15, dressmaker), Mary (12, scholar), Ellen (9, scholar), Margaret (4), and a visitor (Kate Jackson, 12). The youngest, Margaret, was born in Glasgow and the rest in Doune.8 
(Widowed) DeathHer husband James died on 11 Feb 1885.9 
DeathJane died on 27 Jun 1885 in 21 Hutcheson Square, Glasgow, Lanarkshire.
