MarriageWalter Reid married Margaret Elizabeth MacDonald, daughter of Ewen MacDonald and Margaret Frost, on 28 Oct 1886 in Winton Cottage, Pencaitland, Haddington.

They were married after Church of Scotland banns, and the witnesses were [probably Walter's brother] Thomas Reid and Hester E Macdonald.2 
1891 CensusWalter and Margt appeared on the 1891 Census of Barony, Glasgow, Lanarkshire, at 118 Ingleby Drive. Walter was 38, a gas apparatus engineer, and born in Dunblane. Margaret was 30 and born in Pencaitland. They had a 2-year old daughter, Margt C.6 
(Informant) Death W Reid of 118 Ingleby Drive, Glasgow registered the 1896 death of his sister Marion.7 
1901 CensusWalter and Margaret Elizabeth appeared on the 1901 Census of Barony, Glasgow, Lanarkshire, at No 4 Alexandra Park Gardens. Walter was a Works Manager, age 48, and born in Perthshire Dunblane. Margaret Elizabeth was 40 and born in Haddingtonshire, Pencaitland. Their home had 4 rooms with windows and they had one female servant. Their children were Margaret Catherine (12), Elizabeth Paterson (7), and William Paterson (4).8 
DeathWalter died on 3 Sep 1913 in St Elizabeths Home, 172 Renfrew Street, Glasgow, Lanarkshire.
Information from certificate: Iron Works Manager, married to Elizabeth McDonald, Glasgow Residence: 4 Alexandra Park Gardens, age 60, son of John Reid Farmer (dec) & Elizabeth Reid maiden surname Paterson (dec), died of Carcinoma of Stomach 2 years. The informant was his son W P Reid, 4 Alexandra Park Gardens Glasgow.9
