BaptismHe was baptized on 7 Nov 1803 in Dunblane, Perthshire.1 
NoteHe was recorded as 'William Graham Reid' on his daughter Marion's death certificate but just 'William' in other records.3 
NoteHe was mentioned in the Dunblane Kirk Session records on 18 May 1834. William Reid, Farmer, Cambushinie confessed the sin of fornication with Helen Taylor of the Parish of Comrie and was the father of her child. He was rebuked for his sin and scandal. On the 26th of June, he again appeared before the Session and was absolved from scandal and restored to the privileges of the church.4 
MarriageHe married Elizabeth Paterson, daughter of James Paterson and Marion Eadie, on 27 Feb 1836 in Dunblane.
The register stated that Wm was at Kippenrate and Elizth at Lendrick, both of the parish of Dunblane.1 
1841 CensusWilliam and Elizabeth Reid appeared on the 1841 Census of Dunblane, Perthshire, at Kippenrait. William was a farmer, age 35, born in Perthshire. Elizabeth was 25 and also born in the county. The children were Jane (6), John (4), James (4), and William (2). There were also 2 male servants and 3 female servants in the household.5 
(Heir) WillWilliam Reid was named an heir in the will of John Reid dated 21 Apr 1849. Eldest son William had already been provided for and was bequeathed £40 Sterling.6
1851 CensusWilliam and Elizabeth appeared on the 1851 Census of Dunblane, Perthshire, at Kippenrait. William was age 48, a farmer of 80 acres employing 2 labourers. Elizabeth was 35 and born in Dunblane. Their children were Jane (16), John (14), James (13), William (11), Marrion (9), Elizabeth (7), Thomas (5), and Robert (1). Living with them were 2 farm and 2 house servants.7 
(Surety) ProbateWilliam Reid was a cautioner for the administration of his mother-in-law Marion Eadie's estate on 19 May 1854 in Perthshire Commissary Court. He was described as William Reid, farmer in Kippenrait.8 
(Informant) DeathWilliam Reid registered the 1855 death of John Reid. He was recorded as son William Reid.9 
1861 CensusThe Reids appeared on the 1861 Census of Dunblane, Perthshire, at Kippenrate House. William was 56, a farmer of 100 acres, birthplace Dunblane. Elizabeth was 45, a farmer's wife and born in Dunblane. At home were their children William (21, ploughman), Elizabeth (17), Thomas (14), Robert (11), Walter (8) and Cathrine (5). Their house had 8 rooms with windows and with them were 2 female domestic servants.10 
(Informant) DeathWilliam Reid registered the 1867 death of Elizabeth Reid. He was recorded as son William Reid, Kippenrait.11 
1871 CensusWilliam and Elizabeth appeared on the 1871 Census of Dunblane Parish, Perthshire, at Kippenrait. William was a Farmer of 56 acres (arable) employing two Labourers, age 66, and born in Dunblane. Elizabeth was 56, birthplace Dunblane. In their household were one daughter, Catherine (15), farm servant James Menzies, a dairy maid and a lodger Margaret Ferguson (71, unm, retired housekeeper, born Haddingtonshire Salton). The house had 6 rooms with windows.12 
(Widowed) DeathHis wife Elizabeth died on 13 Jul 1873.13,14  
(Informant) DeathWilliam Reid registered the 1876 death of John Paterson. John was his wife's brother.15,16 
1881 CensusWilliam Reid appeared on the 1881 Census of Dunblane, Perthshire, at Kippenrait Farm. He was 77 years old, a widower, a farmer of 80 acres pasture land employing 1 man & 1 woman, and was born in Muthill. Also there were daughters Marion Roberts (39, widow), Kate Reid (25), granddaughter Elizabeth Roberts (9), grandson William Cumyn (8), a servant, a farm servant, and visitor Rose McMally 92.17 
(Informant) DeathHe registered the 1888 death of Catherine Reid. He was recorded as William Reid, father.18,14 
DeathWilliam died on 23 Aug 1890 in Kippenrait, Dunblane, Perthshire.
Information from the certificate: Farmer, Widower of Elizabeth Paterson, age 86, father John Reid, Farmer (dec), mother Elizabeth maiden surname Graham (dec), died of Paralysis 8 days certified. The informant was Lizzie Roberts, Grand-daughter.14,2 
BurialHe was buried in Dunblane Cathedral, Dunblane, Perthshire.14
