1939 RegisterJohn and Kathleen Kolthammer appeared on the England and Wales 1939 Register in Morden, Surrey, at 107 Middleton Road. The register listed every civilian at the outbreak of war and was used in order to have current population statistics, issue identification cards, monitor population movements, and in 1940 to issue ration cards.
John was born 9 Dec 1889 and was a Civil Servant - Clerical Office of the GPO. Kathleen was born 15 Nov 1896. Information about three people in the household was redacted. The redaction will be in effect for 100 years from the person's date of birth or until proof of death is verified.3 
MilitaryKathleen was a W.R.A.C. [Women's Royal Army Corps] (and was stationed at the same base as Guy Gibson of Dambusters fame).4
