Also there were cousin Amelia Mildon (40, single), niece Alice C West (16) and nephew Fred West (15). [Amelia was related to John's mother Mary Burnett and the Wests were related to Elizabeth Ann Lake]4

Elizabeth was 43, born Cheriton Fitzpaine. Their children were John H (18, florist & market gardener), Ernest B (14), William A (12), Edward P (11), Rose M (9), Alice M (7), and Leonard T (6). Also there were cousin Amelia Mildon (51, crippled from childhood) and nephew Fred West (24.)5

John was 55, a Carpenter & Joiner, and born in Cheriton Fitzpaine Devon. Elizabeth Ann was 53, born in Cheriton Fitzpaine, and was the mother of 9 children, 7 of whom were still living. They had been married 29 years. Their children at home were Edward Percival (21, plumber), Alice Mabel (17), Leonard Thomas (16, porter). Also there were their daughter-in-law Ada Ethel Elizabeth and her son John Walter Thomas (1.)6

John and Annie, along with their daughters Alice and Rose, sailed from Avonmouth on the Royal George, arriving in Quebec on the 19th of July. They carried $35 cash and were going to join their son, a gardener, in Brantford. Rose, 19, was a cook and Church of England. Alice, 18, was a nurse, and Wesleyan. John was a farmer and he and Annie were Church of England. They traveled by Canadian Northern Railway.7
