Research Note Mary Ann's surname is recorded as Barker on her marriage registration but it is Parker on daughter Emma's birth certificate, and in the 1871 census she is with her parents named Parker.

MarriageShe married Richard Oliver on 6 Jan 1872 in Tweed, Hastings County, Ontario.
Information from the marriage register: Richard Olliver [sic], 25, residence Hungerford, birthplace England, bachelor, farmer, parents Edward & Maria Olliver;
Mary Ann Barker [sic], 26, single, residence Hungerford, birthplace Canada, parents Jas & Jane? Barker;
They were both Methodist, married by N D Peters, and the witnesses were Thomas Booth and Sarah Booth, both of Hungerford.1 
1881 CensusRichard and Mary Oliver appeared on the 1881 Census of Seymour Township, Northumberland County, Ontario. Richard was 35, born in England, and a farmer. Mary was 35 and born in Ontario. They were married and their religion was Episcopal Methodist. Their children, all born in Ontario, were Fraser (8), Frank (7), Fletcher (4), and Harry [sic] (2.)3 
1891 Census This family has not yet been found in the 1891 census. 
1901 CensusRichard and Maryann appeared on the 1901 Census of Dufferin, Manitoba. Richard was 56, born 5 Oct 1844 in rural England, immigrated in 1856, of English origin, Methodist, Farmer and employer. Maryann was 55, born 10 Jan 1845 in Ontario, Irish origin and her religion was Church of England. Their children were William (26, with wife & 2 children), Frank (25), Fletcher (23), Parker (17), and Emma (15).
The family lived in a 4 room wood house on 640 acres with 2 barns or other outbuildings.4 
1906 CensusRichard and Mary A Oliver appeared on the 1906 Census of Alberta, at Section 6 Township 32 Range 2 W5, enumerated 24 Jun 1906. They were living in the same section as their son Frazer and his family. Their post office address was Didsbury. Richard's livestock included 40 horses, 6 milk cows, 25 other cattle, and 12 hogs.
Richard was 62, born in England, and immigrated in 1856. Mary was 62 and born in Ontario. Their only child at home was Emma, age 20.5 
1911 CensusRichard and Maria Oliver appeared on the 1911 Census of Didsbury, Alberta. Richard was 66, born October 1844 in England, and was a retired farmer living on income. Maria was 66, born January 1845 in Ontario, Irish origin. They were Methodist.2 
DeathMary died between 1911 and 1916.
Richard was a widower in the 1916 census.6
