Josiah was 49, born Mar 18 1851 in Illinois, parents born in Arkansas, and was a coal miner out of work 3 months that year. Elizabeth was born Dec 25 1833 in Illinois, parents in Tennessee. They had been married 29 years and Elizabeth was the mother of 8 children, 4 still living. They rented their home and neither could read or write. Their children were Arthur (25, coal miner), Viva (21), Mary Ann (17), and Jessie (4).2
