John was a private and this report did not include when mustered in and out, just that he was "transferred from Campbell Battery discharged 24 Sep 1864 Term Expired". Personal characteristics noted were: residence Pinckneyville, Perry County, age 27, height 5' 6 1/2", light hair, gray eyes, light complexion, married, occupation mechanic, nativity England.3 |

His children were Wm J (18), Mary A (14), Adam (12), Jenette (7), and Jessie (5). All attended school. Also there was his mother in law Catherine Presswood.5 |
