Harvey was born in April 1889 in Illinois, parents born in Illinois, age 11, and attended school. Also there were his mother Maggie E (29) and a sibling Ralph P (2). William and Maggie had been married 4 years.2 
1910 CensusEdward Presswood appeared on the 1910 Federal Census of Coulterville, Randolph County, Illinois. He was a stepson in the household of Wm E and Elizabeth Dickinson. Step-siblings included Ralph (12), Fern (8), Blanche (5), Erma Belle (8 months).
Edward was 21, single, born in Illinois, parents born in Illinois, and worked as a coal miner. He was without work for 16 weeks the previous year and could read and write.3

Eva was 26 and born in Illinois. Their children were Madison E (5), William E (2), and Jaunita (2 months).4 
1930 CensusPete H and Eva Presswood appeared on the 1930 Federal Census of Cutler, Perry County, Illinois. They rented their home for $8 and did not have a radio set. Pete was 36, born in Illinois, first married at 22 and worked on his own account doing odd jobs trucking. Eva was 34, born in Illinois, first married at 20. Their children were Madison E (16), Bill W (12), Jaunita (10), Larieme M (8), and Derol G (2).5 
1940 CensusH E and Evia Presswood appeared on the 1940 Federal Census of Pinckneyville, Perry County, Illinois, at North Main. H.E. supplied the information to the census taker. They rented their home for $5 and in 1935 they were living in Willisville, Perry County. H.E. was 51, had an 8th grade education, and was born in Illinois. He had been out of work for 60 weeks but was engaged in public emergency work (such as WPA). His occupation was hoisting engineer in a coal mine and he worked 21 weeks in 1939 for $332. Eva was 47, had a 4th grade education, and was born in Illinois. Their children at home were Jaunita (20, 4th grade, occupation New Worker), Leverne (18, 5th grade, coal mine laborer), and Darrell Gene (12, 3rd grade). They had one lodger, Neil Houghland (18).6 
DeathHarvey died in 1958.7
