Her nearest relative there was her father, Alex Hall of 3 Seaforth Place, Stirling. The children were Rene (6), Janet (3), and Betty (2). All were born in Stirling and their destination was Sheridan Wyoming where they were joining their husband and father Thomas.3

Thomas was a renter, age 40, immigrated in 1914, status Pa, born in Scotland, parents born in Scotland, a farmer in general farming, employer. Janet was 35, immigrated in 1916 with the children, was born in Scotland, parents born in Scotland. Their children were Kathryn C (9), Janet F (7), and Mary E (6). Also with them was Thomas' brother John (36). Their children Catherine C, Janet F and Mary Elizabeth were living with them.2 
1930 CensusThomas and Janet appeared on the 1930 Federal Census of Oakland, Bergen County, New Jersey, at McCoy Road. Thomas was 50, first married at 29, born in Scotland, parents born in Scotland, immigrated in 1914, naturalized, and was the manager of a farm. Janet was 46, first married at 25, born in Scotland, and immigrated with the girls in 1916. Their children were Catherine C (20, stenographer), Janet F (17), and Mary E (16). They rented their home and owned a radio.5 
1940 CensusThomas and Janet N [sic] Kinross appeared on the 1930 Federal Census of Oakland, Bergen County, New Jersey. They rented their residence for $30 a month and lived in the same place as in 1935, but not the same address. Thomas supplied the information to the census taker. He was 60 years old, had one year of high school education, birthplace Scotland, and was a naturalized citizen. Thomas was a farmer, not currently working or seeking work, and had no income the previous year. Janet was 54, had one year of high school, was born in Scotland, and naturalized. She was a housewife who had borne 3 children. With them was their daughter Catherine C Eve (30, widow, dictaphone operator).6
