MarriageJames Reid married Margaret Anderson, daughter of William Anderson and Lilias Stirling, on 29 May 1798 in Ardoch, Muthill, Perthshire.
Banns were recorded in Dunblane 20 May 1798; Margaret was at the waterside of Ardoch and James was a farmer in wester feddal.3,1 
Voters' ListJames Reid appeared on the electoral roll in 1832 in Dunblane. He was a tenant farmer with lands and farm in Cupens of Wester Feddal.4 
1841 CensusJames Reid Sr and [his wife] Margaret appeared on the 1841 Census of Dunblane, Perthshire, at Cupins. James was a farmer. He and Margaret were both age 70 and born in Perthshire. With them was their son James (30), 2 agricultural labourers & 2 female servants. [In the 1841 census ages were rounded down and relationships not recorded].5 
DeathJames died on 16 Mar 1848 in Wester Feddal, Dunblane, Perthshire.6
