BaptismHe was baptized on 13 May 1867 in St Pancras. He was the son of Thomas, a carman [sic - he was a carver], & Sarah Mary Fernee of Werrington Street. The family were paupers and on that day 40 poor children were baptised.1 
Note.He is recorded as "George Herbert" in the baptismal register and the civil registration birth index. In all other records, he is "Herbert George". Those are his two grandfathers' names. 
(with Parents) 1871 CensusHerbert G Fernee appeared on the 1871 Census of St. Pancras, Middlesex with his parents. He was 4 and was born in Pancras.2 
(with Father) 1881 CensusHerbert George appeared on the 1881 Census of St. Pancras, London, Middlesex in the household of his father Thomas Fernee. He was 13 and born in St Pancras.3

They were married after banns and the witnesses were William Francis Wallace, Franc*s Povey, and Henry Bantin. [Herbert signed his name Ferneé]5 
1901 CensusHerbert G and Edith appeared on the 1901 Census of Islington, London, at 176 Tufnell Park Rd. The Fernees lived in four rooms and shared the house with another family. Herbert G was 33, a Wood Carver, employer, and was born in St Pancras. Edith was 31 and born in St Pancras. Their sons were Herbert G (7) and Thomas A (1.)6 
EventJames Fernee wrote Herbert George Fernee a letter inquiring what he knew about their family history in 1905. He had found Herbert George's name in the directory as living in Camden Town but didn't know how they were related. They exchanged several letters in the following weeks.7 
1911 CensusHerbert Geo and Edith Fernée appeared on the 1911 Census of London, at 74 Dartmouth Park Hill. Their dwelling had 5 rooms. Herbert was 42, born in St Pancras, and was a modeller working on his own account. Edith was 41 and born in St Pancras. They had been married 18 years and had two children, both still living: Herbert Geo (17, warehouseman) and Thomas Albert (11, school.)8 
(Admon) ProbateHerbert George Fernee, wood carver, was granted administration of his wife Edith's estate on 24 Feb 1922.9 
(Admon) ProbateHerbert George Fernee, retired poster writer, was granted administration of [his brother] Thomas's estate on 15 Feb 1934.10
