BaptismMary Harris was baptized on 10 Feb 1750/51 in St Mary Hornsey, Middlesex, the daughter of Thomas, a labourer, and Sarah. [The register says 1750 but at that point in history, the year began on the 25th of March so the year is adjusted to 1751 in the new style. There are two instances of this baptism at Ancestry.com, presumably the parish register and the bishop's transcript, but the website does not identify which is which]2

AnecdoteOver 60 years later, this story about Mary's funeral was still being recounted.
James Fernee told of a visit c1901 to his cousin Anthony Storey's daughter Mrs. Higgins, baker and confectioner in Hornsey. He wrote, "In the course of conversation Mrs. Higgins related of a funeral which took place at Hornsey, I think it was Father's cousin Anthony Storey's grand mother, she was a Fernee, however the remarkable but the usual [sic] thing was, that six sons were the mourners, young and elder were all baldheaded, that is a sure brand of the family, I have never yet known any other."5
