Passenger ListThe Hyams family was listed on a manifest dated for the Luciana, arriving in New York from Liverpool 27 Oct 1894. They were listed as John M (33, Grocer, 4 pieces of luggage), Dolly (25, wife, 1 piece of luggage), Lewis Henry (6), and Michael (3). They were citizens of the USA and intended a protracted stay.5 
Research Note Their son Lewis Henry was born in England in 1888 and son Michael was born in Ossining, New York c1892, so this was probably a return trip to visit family in England. Edith's brothers Albert and William both lived in New York. 
1911 CensusJohn Michael and Edith Hannah Hyams appeared on the 1911 Census of Hornsey, Middlesex, at 1 Ferrestone Buildings Tottenham Lane. John was 49, worked on his own account in a Tobacconist Shop, and was born in London. Edith Hannah was 42, born in London, and also worked in the Tobacconist Shop. They had been married 24 years and she was the mother of 2 children, both still living. They lived in four rooms. Their sons were Lewis Henry (22, worked in the shop) and Michael (19, born in the United States, filament maker for an incandescent lamp manaufacturer.)6
