BaptismHe was baptized on 25 Apr 1824 in St James Clerkenwell, Middlesex. He was the son of George, a potatoe merchant, & Chrissey Fernee of St John Street.1 
(with Parents) 1841 CensusWm appeared on the 1841 Census of St James Clerkenwell (Finsbury), Middlesex in the household of his parents. He was 17, a Jewellers Apprentice, and born in the county.4 
MarriageHe married Emily Bew on 25 Dec 1847 in St Mary Islington, Middlesex.

1851 CensusWilliam and Emily appeared on the 1851 Census of Highgate, parish of Hornsey, Middlesex, at North Street. William was 27, a Goldsmith Journeyman, and born in Clerkenwell. Emily was 25, a Milliner, and born in Highgate. Their children Emily Louise and Charles George Bew were living with them.6 
1861 CensusWilliam and Emily A appeared on the 1861 Census of Islington St Mary, Middlesex, at 65 Windsor Rd. William was 37, a Goldsmith & Jeweller, and was born in Clerkenwell, Middlesex. Emily A was 35 and born in Highgate, Middlesex. Their children Emily Louise, Katherine, Ellen Grace, Florence and Constance Marion were with them.7

Notice of Adjudications and First Meeting of Creditors.

William Fernee, of No. 31, Cottenham-road, Holloway, in the county of Middlesex, Journeyman Goldsmith, having been adjudged bankrupt under a Petition for adjudication of Bankruptcy, filed in Her Majesty's Court of Bankruptcy, in London, on the 4th day of November, 1862, is hereby required to surrender himself to John Fisher Miller, Esq., a Registrar of the said Court, at the first meeting of creditors, to be held before the said Registrar, on the 25th day of November instant, at twelve o'clock at noon precisely, at the said Court. Mr. Edward Watkin Edwards, of No. 22, Basinghall-street, London, is the Official Assignee, and Mr. S. Cotion, of No. 3, Bell-yard, Doctor's Commons, is the Solicitor acting in the bankruptcy.8

Mr. Edward Watkin Edwards, of No. 22, Basinghall-street, London, is the Official Assignee, and Mr. W.W. Aldridge, of No. 46, Moorgate-street, is the Solicitor acting in the bankruptcy.9
 
1871 CensusWilliam and Emily appeared on the 1871 Census of Islington, Middlesex, at 1 Stock Orchard Terrace. There were three families at this address. William was 47, a Jeweller & Goldsmith, and was born in England. Emily was 45 and born in England. Their children Katherine, Ellen Grace, Florence, Constance Marion, William Frederick, Albert and Edith Hannah were living with them.10 
1881 CensusWilliam and Emily appeared on the 1881 Census of Islington, Middlesex, at 30 Roden Street. Two families lived in this building. William was 57, a Goldsmith, and born in Clerkenwell. Emily was 55 and born in Highgate. Their children Ellen Grace, Florence, Constance Marion, William Frederick, Albert, Edith Hannah and Jessie Lydia were living with them.11 
1891 CensusWilliam appeared on the 1891 Census of Islington, London, at 61 Mayton Street, enumerated 5 Apr 1891. He was 67, married, living on his own means, and was born in Clerkenwell, London. His wife was enumerated at their daughter Ellen's home. His son William Frederick was with him.12 
DeathWilliam died in 1896.13
 
BurialHe was buried on 15 Feb 1896 in Islington Cemetery.14
