1891 CensusWilliam and Rose appeared on the 1891 Census of Streatham, London, at 15 Dornton Road. William was a master grocer, age 36, and born in Chelsea. Rose was 35 and born in Pimlico. Their children were Rose (12), William (9), Harry (8), and Florence (6), all scholars and born in Westminster.4 
1901 CensusWilliam and Rose appeared on the 1901 Census of North Wimbledon, Surrey, at 2 Ethelbert Road. William was 45, born in Chelsea, and worked as a wholesale grocer's traveller. Rose was 45 and born in Pimlico. Their children at home were William (19, analytical chemist's assistant) and Edwin (8.)5
