Obituary

Mr Charlie McLellan, age 66 years, a resident of 102 - 777B Kingsway Ave, died at his residence on Tuesday, Aug 21, 1984. Born in Grand Coulee, Saskatchewan, he was the son of the late Mr and Mrs Sandy McLellan, and received his education in Regina. In 1941 he was married to the former Miss Jean Kennedy. He served in the Canadian Armed Forces during 1941 until 1945 with the Staff Clerks, Infantry and Artillery Corps in Regina, Petawawa and Shilo. In 1945 they moved to Red Rock where he began working for Domtar until 1978 when he retired as an instrument forman after 33 years of service. In 1982 they moved to Thunder Bay. A member of St Thomas Anglican Church, he was active in Red Rock United Church and with community sports there. Survived by his wife Jean, at home; two sons, Ken of Thunder Bay, Robin of Edmonton (en route); a daughter, Daryl, Mrs Philip Lein of Thunder Bay; three brothers and two sisters in Southern Ontario; three grandchildren; nieces and nephews. Pre-deceased by his parents and a brother Al. Funeral services will be held on Friday at 1:30 pm in the Jenkens Funeral Home. Rev Robert Russell of St Thomas Anglican Church will officiate and interment will be in Sunset Memorial Gardens.5
