The certificate stated: age 29, wife of Robert Chalmers, born Canada, Presbyterian, Acute peritonitis with perforation of bowels one week, informant husband, registered 19 Aug 1889. [Elizabeth died one week after giving birth to their son Robert James. The baby died September 5th]4
