1841 CensusJno and Wm Graham appeared on the 1841 Census of Manchester, Lancashire, at 47 Buxton Street. John was 29, a Calico Printer, and born in Scotland. William was 25, a Clerk, and born in Scotland. [Relationships were not recorded in the 1841 census; they were brothers].. [Note that the 1841 census records ages rounded down to the nearest 5 years, does not record relationships, and only indicates whether or not the person was born in the county. John and William were brothers]3 
MarriageHe married Cooper Mary Hannah Boocock Woodcroft in 1845 in Yorkshire, England.4,5
 
1851 CensusJohn and Cooper appeared on the 1851 Census of Rusholme, Lancashire, at Rusholme Place. John was 39, a Calico Printer, and born in Scotland. Cooper was 33 and born in Manchester. With them were their children Margaret (4), John (3), and Ellen (2), as well as visitor Bennett Woodcroft, and servants including a Cook, a Lady's Maid, and a Housemaid.6 
1861 CensusJohn Graham appeared on the 1861 Census of St George Bloomsbury, Middlesex, at Great Coram Street. He was 49 years old, married, occupation H.M. Mint, and born in Glasgow Scotland. He was a visitor to the Eleonara Craig family. [Cooper and their daughter Margaret were enumerated with Cooper's sister in Hampstead. Son John was at school in Tottenham. Helen's whereabouts in 1861 not yet found].7 
Note.John had been engaged gratuitously at the Mint for many months and was appointed on 23 April 1861 to a clerkship as Inspector of Bronze Coins, at £20 per month. His brother Thomas was Master of the Mint.8 
(Executor & Heir) WillHe was named executor and an heir in the will of Margaret Graham dated 19 Jul 1861 in Glasgow. To brother John the income of the estate during his lifetime. After his death, two thirds of the residue was to be divided among his unmarried daughters, failing which to married daughters.9 
(Executor) ProbateJohn Graham was appointed an executor of the estate of his sister Margaret Graham in Dec 1866. He was recorded as John Graham now of the Royal Mint London.9 
DeathJohn died on 22 Feb 1869 in Royal Mint, Tower Hill, City of London.4,10
 
ProbateHis estate was proved on 16 Jul 1869. Entry from the calendar:

Graham John Esq. The Will of John Graham formerly of Great-Coram-street in the County of Middlesex but late of the Royal Mint Tower Hill in the City of London Esquire deceased who died 22 February 1869 at the Royal Mint aforesaid was proved at the Principal Registry by the oath of Thomas Graham of Gordon-square in the County aforesaid Esquire Master of Her Majesty's Mint the Brother the sole Executor. Effects under £600. Administration (with Will) of Goods unadministered passed at the Principal Registry June 1870.10
